Our Story

Inspired by a trip to Asia in 2019 and a love for cooking experimental dishes, Emily and Chris decided they weren’t just happy cooking up dishes that they discovered for themselves, they wanted to share them with everyone. YUZU Street Food was born.

The name ‘Yuzu’ comes from a hybrid citrus fruit (cross between and orange and a lemon) similar to grapefruit in flavour. Yuzu juice is a key ingredient in the making of Ponzu, a condiment found on the tables of Japanese dining rooms throughout the world.

Emily, Chris and the YUZU team bring asian flavours to the streets of the UK by serving everything from Katsu Curry to Bao buns, Wings to Ramen on their ever changing, compact seasonal menu.

YUZU has three simple promises: We use (1) the best quality local ingredients to create dishes that (2) look amazing and (3) taste as amazing as they look.

Emily and Chris have a wealth of experience on the street food scene, they have had successful street food businesses operational since 2015.

YUZU are based in various locations that all have one thing in common, they all have a great beer selection! Every dish on The YUZU menu works exceptionally well with a cold beer.

YUZU now has ‘permanent pop-up’ locations across Yorkshire, in-fact we’re pretty damn good at building kitchens too! If you manage or own a cool venue, reading this and thinking YUZU might work in your space, drop us a line, you never know, we might be your best foodie mates sooner than you think.
